LACEF 2020
LACEF NEWS
We were really honoured to be asked to organise and host the LACEF 2020 Autumn Conference. We had the venue booked and arrangements had started to be made to organise a great conference, unfortunately, then everything changed with the outbreak of COVID-19.
When lockdown was lifted and restrictions changed, we had hoped that we could still proceed with the conference, but unfortunately, it was not to be. After consultation with LACEF it was agreed that a virtual conference would not really be practical. This meant with great disappointment we had to cancel this year’s conference.
Last year’s conference, with the help of the conference sponsors, money had been raised to support Christians Against Poverty (as pcitured above). At Reventus we are deeply passionate about giving back to the community and helping the vulnerable, so we had also wanted to raise funds for charities, with the help of the LACEF Conference sponsors.
Even though the conference was cancelled, we still wanted to support the four charities that we had already chosen, The Felix Project, Chipping Barnet Food Bank, North London Hospice and Galliard Primary School. We decided to reach out to the companies that had agreed to sponsor the conference, some of our connections and we also shared to our Social Media channels.
We were thrilled with the response and would like to thank the following companies and individuals and an anonymous benefactor for kindly donating.

About the Charities that we chose.
The Felix Project
Established in 2016 by Justin Byam Shaw, The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity. They rescue food that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste. This food is in-date, nutritious, and includes a high proportion of fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods, salads, meat and fish. Food is donated by wholesalers, retailers, farms, restaurants and delivered to frontline charities, primary schools and holiday programmes, feeding London’s most disadvantaged people.
Chipping Barnet Food Bank
They provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
North London Hospice
They care for over 3000 patients with a life-limiting illness every year and provide support for their families, friends and carers.
They are the local hospice for Barnet, Enfield and Haringey and have been supporting their community since 1984.
Galliard Primary School
The school is situated in a very deprived area of London. The funds donated to them will be used towards replacing interactive whiteboards with Clevertouch boards which make a positive difference to learning in the school, especially after all the time children have missed during the coronavirus pandemic.
Details of next year’s Autumn LACEF conference will be issued in the near future, so you can save the date.
